Natural Thirst blends delicious with nutritious

A new juice bar inside the Central Library in downtown Des Moines supports librarian Laura Walth's determination to have a more healthful lifestyle.

"I am so excited to have some place with healthy options," she said. "It's convenient and I like that the drinks don't have preservatives."

Natural Thirst celebrated its official opening Monday in the wing of the library where the meeting rooms are located. The bar's specialties are juices, smoothies and milk shakes made with fresh fruits and vegetables and without artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
